Darryl Dixon
Darryl
has been a Paramedic for many years now. He
has special training in such field as
neo-natal, geriatric, and adolescent to
enhance his ability to save a human in times
of crisis. This special training paid off
one day when it came to one of our small
Poodles. Taylor had come back home, as her
current Mum could not keep her due to
divorce and living environment. Taylor loved
the standard Poodle and any opportunity she
could she would try to go and play with
them. Taylor some how manage to get in with
my standard girls one day and they never
hurt her or put a mark on her but they
scared her so badly that her heart stopped.
I swooped in, picked her up, and rushed her
in the house to Darryl. He did CPR on her as
you would a baby until we got a heartbeat
back. Today Taylor is a very happy spoiled
rotten Poodle in her new home. You can always see Darryl with his beautiful big black and white Poodle in and around town. Many people know the pair and will call from across the street to say "Hi" to Skylar. Skylar takes it all in stride but never will he leave Darryl's side to talk to anyone else. Each week Darryl goes to work for 48 hours, while he is gone Skylar will lay under his computer desk and knows the day and time he is due to return. You can see Skylar start to come alive about 15 minutes before Darryl is due home and soon he is watching out the window for the van. "Oh my Gosh" Skylar is so excited when that van pulls into our yard that he can barely contain himself.
Together Darryl and I care for the Poodles at Te-Awa.
