Poodles have been a passion of mine for many
years. Originally, from
Soon I
was showing Poodles, I chose red for a color, at
the time the color red was not accepted so I
could never compete with the blacks or white. It
seemed that with each litter I bred I had one or
more Partis. Soon I was checking history on the
Partis and no matter what Poodles I chose I
still got Partis. Some of the Parti
Poodles I bred were much too good of quality to
delete from the gene pool I was working with so
decided to see if I could continue with the
color. Today I breed black and white and brown
and white in the Partis.
As
time has moved on the Standards started getting
too big for the continual maintenance and as
many have done before me, I began looking at the
smaller Poodles. I have a couple of Miniatures
although I still wanted the larger Poodle. Then
I discovered the German Klein Poodles and that
is the perfect size for me. We still have a few
smaller standards but primarily have Klein
Poodles today.
I
married my wonderful husband in 2005, with his
introduction to Poodles came his best Poodle
friend and love, Skylar. They are so bonded that
some times I feel they are leaving me out. Where
you see Darryl, you see his shadow, Skylar.
Darryl is a paramedic and works 48 hours on,
during that time Skylar morns him terribly and
mopes around but come Monday he knows that his
Dad is on his way home and he perks up.
Between the two of us, the Poodles get plenty of love and attention around here. I am the groomer and currently own my own groom shop as well as teach All Breeds Grooming. I still learn every day about the genetics of the Poodles in both color and for health.
