Standard have been my love for many years although I have always liked the movement of the smaller more elegant Standard Poodle. Standard Poodles are the ultimate companion with a very strong desire to please. Their intelligence can be equal to that of a five year old child. They can reason and are excellent at taking command, being the guard dog if needed or the clown of the town. The learning capability and versatility of the Poodle surpasses any other canine I have ever encountered through out my life. The Standard can have a lot of energy but mostly they need to be able to run and play on a daily basis. They should never be left unattended for any length of time due to their mischievous nature. I would not consider a Standard Poodle an adult until they are two years old and even then they can have a bit of a vindictive nature if you do something they do not think is appropriate. We have shared our home with many over the years and still enjoy some older ones that are with us. Our Parti Standards came from all solid breeding and we believe the history tells us that the Partis have been in the Poodles from the beginning of time. I was surprised at continually getting the Partis in my breeding since all of the solid breeders, for many, many years, here in the US, had worked so hard to remove these coloured Poodles from any of their lines.

Karlee was one of those very special Poodles that stayed by my side for the entire 12.5 years of her life. She came from a working home of Poodles and it shows in her off spring today. Tilly, her mother, was the greatest retriever we ever owned. She was also the exact opposite to Karlee in personality. Where Tilly was the Alpha bitch, (and that word is used appropriately for Tilly) Karlee was the sweetest thing you ever meet. Karlee touched the heart of many and also is the mother of the two Poodles above, Star and Tux. She trained many a baby for us, to the leash, how to have proper house manners and to "potty outside". Life would never have been the same had I not experienced it with Karlee for 12.5 years. We continue to miss her today.
Tilly was as special as Karlee but in a very different way. Tilly was the
boss, the boss of the other Poodles, the boss of me, (so she thought anyway) and
did things her way in this life. When Tilly was six years old I decided that it
would be nice if she had her own special one on one home, where she could be the only dog and get spoiled by humans who would dote over her. We found what we believed was the perfect home for
Tilly, it was the perfect home, they doted on her and took her for walks and played with her and spoiled her rotten to the core. Tilly on the other hand, felt it was all in vain because her motive was to do everything in her power to come home. She was the naughtiest Poodle there ever was, she led her beloved family to believe she was not house trained, had no manners and the counter was a great place to stand on or the kitchen table. Decided she never knew what a dog door was and could not learn how to go out it. After talking with her new owners and them wanting to keep trying I finally said "bring Tilly home". They knocked on my door and Tilly walked in and gave me a look of "What took you so long", she went into my computer room, found her favorite spot under my desk and slept for two days. When she finally
woke she acted like she had never left. I knew that Tilly would live with me forever.

Tilly's children have made a huge impact on my breeding program. In turn their grandchildren have produced some of the Poodles you see on the Klein page.
Here are pictures of some of
Tilly's offspring that have contributed to our success with the Poodles.
